Two-factor authentication in the EU Funding & Tenders Portal

The European Commission has decided to strengthen security measures for access to the Funding & Tenders Portal.

Starting April 20, the use of two-factor authentication (2FA) will become mandatory for all Funding & Tenders Portal users, including experts registered in the platform’s database.
The measure was introduced to increase the level of data and account protection. Users who have already enabled two-step verification will not need to take any additional action.
The Commission recommends setting up safety applications before the deadline. Otherwise, users will still be required to set them up on their first login after April 20.
In case of technical problems, users are encouraged to first consult the FAQs dedicated to two-factor authentication. If the problem persists, you can contact the support service, selecting EU Login as the domain and Two-Factor Authentication as the category.
With this initiative, the Funding & Tenders Portal team aims to strengthen the security of the platform, which is used by researchers, experts and organisations to participate in European Union funding programmes.
