Many different actors at Unisi contribute to the setting of the Training Offer for Researchers: the result is a broad and calibrated proposal of topics ranging from soft skills to technical abilities or mandatory requirements to perform research.

All Unisi courses/ initiatives/workshops – together with a selected list of events organised by other entities – are scheduled in this Calendar

Training Framework:

a. Knowledge, intellectual abilities, and techniques to do research

c. Knowledge and skills to work with others to ensure the wider impact of research

Target:

the term Researcher is used by the European Commission in the widest possible sense and includes all researchers, from PhD students to Full Professors. Here are the four identified profiles, as reported also in our HRS4R Action Plan :

R1 First Stage Researcher (up to the point of PhD)
R2 Recognised Researcher (PhD holders or equivalent who are not yet fully independent)
R3 Established Researcher (researchers who have developed a level of independence)
R4 Leading Researcher (researchers leading their research area or field)

USiena Research - Training on European project planning and management

The Research and Grants Management University of Siena, also in collaboration with other institutions/organizations, organizes training courses open to professors, researchers, doctoral students, and staff of the offices on European planning.

Training on Research&Tecnology Transfer 2024

The educational path is various and it includes training on European funds projection and technology transfer goals.

Registration required. 
You can get an Open Badge by attending at least 70% of events.

  • September (2 days) in person – La progettazione europea. (UniSi Soft Skills)
  • October (5 hours) in person&online + bilateral meetings – Introduzione alla nascita di un’impresa: presentazione delle possibili forme giuridiche, il Business Plan, il Business Model Canvas e l’Innovation Canvas
  • October (2,5 ore) in person&online: Uso e Gestione della proprietà intellettuale
  • November (3,5 hour) online – Organized with APRE – How to pitch, perform and convince your audience

Past training courses 2023

The educational path was divided into 5 thematic modules, 6 appointments, and had a total duration of 17 hours, starting in November 2023. The course will address the following topics: European Funds and 2021/2027 programming; overview of funding opportunities; techniques and methods for drafting projects; budgeting and reporting rules; partnership and communication in European projects. The training will be carried out by a pool of competent teachers in the various areas of European funding with over ten years of experience in European planning. The initiative was part of the support actions made available by the MUR for the 2014-2020 Research and Innovation 2014-2020.

USIENA Soft&Digital Skills

The planning of the transversal lessons concerning the soft skills (transversal competencies), involves in-depth studies on topics not covered in the individual doctorates, which are mandatory in the context of European higher education, to facilitate the application, development, and transfer of the scientific knowledge of the specific course of study, to be functional both for research activity and for entering the world of work.

APRE for UniSi

As part of the services offered to its members, each year APRE organizes one or two training courses on the European research funding program Horizon Europe for our University.

SANTA CHIARA LAB  - Teaching e-Learning Center ed il Faculty Community of Learning

The Santa Chiara Lab aggregates and promotes university activities functional to the development and enhancement of transversal skills for students, researchers and teachers, which are decisive both for entering the world of work and for professional development, as well as for acquiring awareness of one’s role as citizens in an ever-changing global world.

“Start Teaching@USiena” project organized within the Polo Didattico di Arezzo of the University of Siena, aimed at new university teachers, to whom the new technologies, platforms and apps available for teaching innovation are illustrated.

UNISI OPBA - Training course on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes
In the framework of mandatory specialized training for those participating in a research project involving animal experimentation, our University, in agreement with other Italian entities, cyclically offers its researchers – from R1 doctoral students to R4 professors – a “training course on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes”. 
The course will consist of an online theoretical part (on Teams platform) and of  a laboratory practice.

BRIGHT NIGHT - Training Researchers at School 2022-2023

The European research project, held by all Tuscany University, promoted specific training for researchers to be able to carry out orientation workshops for school students. 

The 40-hour course was delivered online by Moodle of the University of Siena.
