Important recognition for the University of Siena at the 2026 Start Cup Toscana final: DETHENCO’s project won third place, a special mention and an award from a sponsor of the event.

Start Cup Toscana is the competition that rewards the best high-content business ideas technological born from the world of academic research.

DETHENCO project, developed by the research team led by Professor Guido Sebastiani and Professor Francesco Dotta of the Department of Medical, Surgical and Neuroscience Sciences, aims to reduce the failures in drug development through innovative patient stratification services based on the analysis of circulating RNAs, transforming analytical data into interpretable information for precision medicine.
Thanks to the third place achieved in Lucca – accompanied by a prize of two thousand euros, a mention for women’s entrepreneurship and the recognition of the sponsor Società Addì – the team will participate in the final of the Award National Innovation Team (PNI), scheduled for Bari on December 3 and 4.

The Start Cup Toscana 2026 is an initiative funded and sponsored by the Regione Toscana, promoted as part of GiovaniSì and organized by the Regional Technology Transfer Office with the universities and higher universities of Tuscany.
