APRE Courses 2026: “Ethical Aspects and the AI Act in Horizon Europe Projects” webinar

APRE is organizing the webinar “Ethical Aspects and the AI Act in Horizon Europe Projects” (“Aspetti etici e AI Act”), taking place online on 23 September 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00.
The event is organized in collaboration with the University of Siena, Scuola Normale Superiore, University of Pisa, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, and the University of Florence.
For all activities funded under the Horizon Europe program, ethical aspects are an integral part of research from start to finish, and ethical compliance is fundamental to ensuring research excellence. Therefore, right from the development of the project idea, a thorough ethical evaluation must be conducted not only to comply with the legal framework, but also to enhance proposal quality and increase the chances of success.
Conducting ethical research involves applying fundamental ethical principles and legislation across all possible research domains. Through practical examples and operational guidance, this course provides useful tools to identify ethical and regulatory risks, assess the compliance of AI applications, and properly document activities within Horizon Europe proposals and projects.
