NETWORKS
University of Siena intends create synergies and relationships collaborating by creating and joining national and international networks concerning the development of research activities in generalist knowledge.
The University is a founder member of the Tuscan Organization of Universities and Research for Europe (Tour4EU) that promotes the interests of the Tuscan Higher Education system for research within the EU, potentiating internationalization and encouraging European project planning.
The University collaborates with the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE), representing the national contact point for EU programmes. APRE maintains close relations with the most important national institutional actors active in Research and Innovation to promote the development and the internationalization of the Italian R&I system by providing information, training, and assistance services.
The University of Siena is part of the European network ‘EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion’, the portal created by the European Commission, which includes a series of actions aimed at increasing the attractiveness of Europe to researchers from third countries.
The network Unisi-IA is to build a tight network of University of Siena labs, whose research focus is on AI and its applications. The interaction among the labs can take the form of seminars, discussion groups, project building. Such interaction can therefore lead to the sharing of a joint base of knowledge which is essential for future perspectives of AI.
SDSN Mediterraneanis the regional hub for the Mediterranean area of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN), launched by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in August 2012 to support sustainable development issues. SDSN Med, directed by Professor Jeffrey Sachs (Columbia University), aims to mobilize scientific and technical expertise from academia, civil society, and the private sector to enhance the sustainable use and development of the Mediterranean region, engaging in a wide array of projects and partnerships. The Secretariat for SDSN Mediterranean is hosted by the University of Siena (Italy). The Italian Secretariat of PRIMA , established at the University of Siena – Santa Chiara Lab, thanks to the contribution of the Ministry of Education, University and Research, carries out the promotion and dissemination activities of the PRIMA Program in our country. Under the PRIMA initiative, 19 participating states countries have a joint research and innovation strategy addressing the challenges in climate change.
USiena Alumni is the graduate’s network of the University of Siena, aims to join alumni for all over the world.
