Description
Developing a regulatory framework for ecological AI
The rapid improvement of AI technologies has made AI a promising tool in combating climate change. However, a robust regulatory discourse and roadmap that promotes an environmentally sustainable and eco-centric approach to AI is actually missing. Supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the EcoAI project will develop an innovative regulatory framework from an eco-centric perspective for the operation and development of an ecological AI. The focus will be on sustainability and assisting with policymaking, decision-making, and climate change research. The project will pilot the framework within the EU legal system and explore its possible expansion to help other countries, such as Brazil.
