Description

The project aims at strengthening innovative sustainable economy (ISE) in the Mediterranean region by developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities for the uptake of technologies in order to support the transition to a circular economy and consolidate a competitive innovation ecosystem with the 4-helix stakeholders. Therefore, Community4Innovation acts as an engaged and structured community that improves collaboration among projects, stakeholders and relevant institutions to find solutions for common challenges and promote the transfer of novel practices to other actors and territories for their integration into policies and strategies.
Community4Innovation main outputs comprise the activation of a Community of Practice as a process of collective knowing and learning among projects through transnational cooperation, as well as a Hub aiming to establish a strong and multi-sectorial network in the field of ISE to amplify synergies and facilitate the replicability of solutions in the whole Mediterranean region. In addition, Community4Innovation will develop an interactive Catalogue of Actionable Knowledge with all available project’ results in the field of ISE and it will also generate a capacity-building and transferring programme for potential takers, in particular Business Support Organisation, NGOs and public authorities. This plan envisages recurrent encountering opportunities to tackle both top-down (i.e. UfM, UNEP/MAP, IDP, regional authorities) and bottom-up (i.e. TP, end-users) needs. To this end, an overall coordination will be set to ensure collaboration with relevant institutions and contribute to the implementation of the UfM GreenerMed Agenda and the UfM Ministerial Declaration on Sustainable Blue Economy, as well as to the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development and UNEP/MAP Medium term Strategy 2022-2027 for the overall achievement of the SDGs.
