Description

The project aims to transform corporate museums of food companies into Living Labs, to connect food innovation with community outreach. The Living Labs will leverage the cultural environment of the corporate museums to offer a variety of services to prototype, test, and validate ideas and technologies with consumers, producers, and experts. The project experiments with innovative strategies to address business and consumer needs: the need of companies to be competitive on the market (e.g., improving products and service offerings, using new sustainable materials); and the need of the consumers for healthy, affordable, sustainable, high-quality food leading to a positive impact on the personal health and the environment. The Living Labs will organise a series of activities aimed at favouring collaborations among stakeholders in four domains: a) technology transfer to experiment with advanced knowledge like 3D food printing to envision new food offering; b) education to offer learning experiences to consumers and professionals; c) innovation of products and services to experiment with new concepts, materials and technologies; d) communication to raise awareness and stimulate consumers’ habits towards healthy and sustainable nutrition. This model is implemented in two pilot sites in Calabria (Italy), the corporate museums of GIAS and Rubbettino to develop open resources, new solutions and best practices to scale up the project.
