4th edition of the “Most Promising Researcher in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence” Award – RomeCup 2026

n the framework of RomeCup 2026, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale — in collaboration with Corriere della Sera, Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, and Sapienza University of Rome — has launched the 4th edition of the “Most Promising Researcher in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence” award. Supported by prestigious universities and research centers, the award is dedicated to young PhD students and researchers involved in robotics and/or AI research projects.

The prize intends to value and support the work of young talents engaged in frontier technological research crucial for the country’s development. A € 20,000 grant will be awarded to the winner as a tribute to their creativity, vision, dedication, and ability to contribute to the progress of humanity through their research.

The call is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • PhD students, PhD graduates, or researchers (from all disciplinary fields).
  • Under the age of 34.
  • Conducting research activities in Italy at universities, research centers, or other public/private institutions.

A jury of academics and technical-scientific experts will select the winner. The award ceremony will take place on 29 April 2026 at the Campidoglio in Rome.
