Description

The Beta2 Social Cooperative has launched a new business unit dedicated to wine production characterized by environmental and social sustainability. This initiative is designed to be fully integrated with the cooperative’s core activities, such as providing job placement and support for vulnerable individuals and producing socially responsible food products. To this end, the cooperative has identified specific vineyards within the Montepulciano wine cluster and established partnerships with business and cooperative stakeholders to support agronomic and organizational development.
The role of the University of Siena and the research grant is to support this strategy by designing and implementing a new Business Model for the wine sector, defined by three innovative pillars:

  • Technological-Productive Innovation: Identifying and implementing precision agriculture techniques and agronomic practices to reduce natural resource consumption through sustainable and circular business models.
  • Social Sustainability: Developing new production and labor organization models, alongside socially responsible supply chain relationships, to ensure the professional integration of fragile individuals.
  • Creative Marketing & Communication: Creating innovative digital marketing and multi-channel strategies to satisfy new socially responsible market segments and niche audiences.
