The Embassy of Canada to Italy is pleased to announce the 14th edition of the Canada-Italy Innovation Award. This award is dedicated to the Italian innovation ecosystem—including startups, researchers, scientists, and creative professionals—wishing to develop collaborative projects with Canadian partners to drive innovative and sustainable socio-economic development.

Projects must address one or more of the following thematic priorities:

• Clean energy and low-carbon technologies (Hydrogen, CCUS, energy efficiency);

• Critical minerals (supply chain resilience, eco-friendly extraction, circular economy);

• Innovative and diversified agriculture;

• Quantum technology;

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) for health (early risk detection, health monitoring, clinical trials);

• Space technology (ecosystem cooperation, sustainability, robotics, and satellite data).

The award provides funding to cover travel expenses to Canada for the Italian awardee. Projects are expected to deliver initial outcomes (such as technology transfer, joint publications, or researcher exchanges) within 6 to 12 months.

Applications must be submitted in English or French.
