The international network of National Contact Points for Horizon Europe Cluster 2, Net4Society, has released the new SSH Opportunities Document 2026-2027, a strategic document specifically designed to help researchers identify calls, topics, and funding opportunities for the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) across the entire Horizon Europe program.
This document serves as a key resource for potential proposers to find specific topics where their research discipline is sought. To facilitate this, the European Commission (EC) has established a dedicated search engine within the Funding & Tender Opportunities Portal, where topics with substantial SSH aspects have been officially “flagged”. The search engine allows users to quickly filter for the “Social Sciences and Humanities” priority, as well as perform keyword and full-text searches.
The Net4Society guide compiles these “SSH-flagged topics” based on the analysis carried out by the EC’s thematic services and the Unit D.3 Health & Societal Transitions. Additionally, the document includes several non-flagged topics that may still require the expertise of SSH researchers.
Researchers are strongly encouraged to screen the Work Programmes personally to ensure no specific opportunities are missed. It is essential to review the full text of the topics, including the “type of action” and specific eligibility criteria, to understand the overall approach and requirements of each call.
All official documentation and direct links to each topic can be accessed and downloaded via the Funding & Tender Opportunities Portal.
