“SHIELD”, a Siena University project, is among the nine selected for POCARNO22, a programme for selecting Proof of Concept projects. The programme is led by the University of Pisa, with the universities of Florence and Siena serving as partners.
The programme is funded within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan through the call for proposals launched by the Ministry of Economic Development for the creation of programmes that valorise patents by funding Proof of Concept (PoC) projects by Italian Universities, Italian Public Research Organizations and Scientific Institutes for Research, Hospitalization and Healthcare.
The programme aims to valorise patents held by the three universities and improve the market- readiness of patented technologies by increasing the TRL, strengthening university researchers’ propensity for technology transfer, and improving the economic value of patented technologies.
The outputs of funded PoC projects will be promoted during dissemination initiatives aimed at involving the entrepreneurial world, venture capitalists, business angels, trade associations, industrial experts in the field, and affiliated business associations, making the most of the numerous collaborations between the universities of Pisa, Florence and Siena and the industrial and financial world, both Italian and international.
