Creating research impact: workshops and support services for researchers and research staff

The topic of “How to create impact from research” was addressed on 23 November during a workshop for lecturers, researchers, postdoctoral fellows and staff from research and third mission offices.
The initiative, organised by the University’s Research and Technology Transfer Division in cooperation with the META training agency, is part of the support actions made available by the MUR for the 2014-2020 PON on Research and Innovation.
In the historical Aula Magna of the Rectoral Palace, participants analysed research results as a starting point for creating the impact, the relationship between the result-use of the result in the short term (outcome) and the subsequent enabling of the impact. The speaker Marco Liviantoni provided examples of Key Performance Indicators and of tools to frame the logic of the impact and link it to measures to maximise it.
Lastly, brief mention was made of the “Horizon Results Booster”, a European Commission service supporting research groups in the process of dissemination and exploitation from the results of
their work.
The Research and Technology Transfer Division can provide information on this service. Workshop materials are available on request: liaison@unisi.it.
