Funding Entity: Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR)

Call:Tuscany Health Ecosystem (THE)

Coordinator: Università di Siena (Italy)

UNISI Principal Investigator: Prof. Eugenio Bertelli

Description

This research aims to investigate the ability of the intestinal microbiota to mediate aging-related functional decline in many organs by performing fecal microbiota transplants from young donor mice to recipient animals throughout their entire lifespan. Behavioral, biochemical, functional, and immunohistochemical analyses will be conducted to evaluate whether the young microbiota has beneficial effects on normal aging.
