To recruit young, promising scientific staff, and to promote synergy between different funding schemes, every year the University of Siena uses its funds to publish a call for researchers who were awarded the Seal of Excellence (SoE) in MSC Actions by the European Commission.
The MSCA Seal of Excellence @ UNISI initiative welcomes applications from promising researchers who were awarded the “Seal of Excellence – MSC Actions” (with a score of 85/100 or higher) in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Postdoctoral Fellowships (HORIZON-MSCA-2022-PF-01-01).
MSCA SoE@UNISI 2023 call is available in English and Italian versions.

The Seal of Excellence is a quality label first introduced during Horizon 2020, the EU’s research and innovation framework programme (2014-2020). It has gradually become a key instrument to create synergies. The Seal of Excellence is awarded to project proposals submitted under a Horizon Europe call for proposals and ranked above a predefined quality threshold but were not funded by Horizon Europe due to budgetary constraints. With this label the Commission recognises the value of project proposals and encourages other funding organizations to take advantage of the high-quality Horizon Europe evaluation process.
